  • Plan M – Good benefits with 50% coverage of the Medicare Part A deductible.
  • Plan N – Good benefits, copayments required, and no coverage for Medicare Part B excess charges.

*High-deductible Plans F & G increase your annual Medicare Part A deductible from $1,600 to $2,700 in 2023. You maintain all the benefits of the standard plans but receive a huge reduction in monthly premiums in exchange for a higher Medicare Part A deductible.

United World Life Medicare Supplement Plans – Benefits & Coverage

The CMS standardizes the benefits of Medigap plans, bringing consistency to the industry. Benefits for Medicare Part A & B expenses are the same across all providers, ensuring you get the same coverage regardless of the insurer you use for your policy.

All Medigap plans offer the following benefits for Original Medicare Parts A & B.

 

United World Life Medicare Supplement Plans – Benefits & Coverage

 

  • Part A coinsurance and hospital costs for up to 365 days after using up Medicare benefits.
  • Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayment.
  • Part B coinsurance or copayment.
  • Blood transfusion costs for the first three pints of blood.

Plans C*, F*, G, and N offer additional Medicare Parts A & B benefits.

 

United World Life Medicare Supplement Plans – Benefits & Coverage C, F, G and N

 

  • Part A deductible.
  • Part B excess charges (Plan N doesn’t cover these charges).
  • Skilled nursing facility care coinsurance.
  • 80% of emergency healthcare costs when traveling outside the US for 60 days. ($250 deductible and $50,000 maximum apply).
  • Unlimited coverage for all out-of-pocket costs.

*Plan C, F, and high-deductible Plan F are only available to seniors qualifying for Original Medicare before January 1, 2020. If you’re eligible for Medicare after this cut-off date, you can go with Plan G for similar benefits to Plan F.

The only thing Plan G doesn’t cover that Plan F does is the Part B deductible.

United World Life will request that you go through medical underwriting if you are not in your initial open enrollment period. So, applying for a policy with this company during the Open Enrollment period in the six months after your 65th birthday is essential to avoid underwriting.

Suppose you have pre-existing conditions and apply outside the Open Enrollment period.

In that case, United World Life can charge your higher-than-average premium or deny your application.

However, there is no waiting period enforced by United World Life when joining during the Open Enrollment period.

What United World Life Medicare Supplement Plans Don't Cover

United World Life Medicare supplement plans don’t cover any expenses unrelated to Original Medicare Parts A & B. You don’t have coverage for private-duty nursing or extended stays at unskilled nursing homes. There’s no coverage for vision, dental, and hearing services or prescriptions.
